Send Something Good

I think there’s still time to sign up for this.  Should be lots of fun!

This is a post for whoever I get paired with and also a little random post because I have posted nothing for about a week. 

Also I tried to pretty it up with pictures but for some reason, I couldn’t.  Silly technology.  So imagine lots of cute pictures and the like to accompany the post.

PLEASE do not send me a whole heap of stuff.  I live in Australia.  The price of postage is crazy.  I will love you just for sending me a little parcel in the mail.

Brussel sprouts
Mean people
Teeth

So bear this all in mind when coming up with something to send.  I’m so excited for this project and for you, kind stranger, for sending me something good!

Another parcel post.

Seriously… how cool is the internet?!  It opens my eyes to new things and lets me meet amazing people that I would never get the chance to cross paths with in ordinary circumstances.  One of those people is Abigail.  And I am not just saying that because she sent me a parcel in the mail.  I can’t even remember how we met but her blog is one of the first ones I check every day to see if there is a new post.  I love hearing about how her school life is going (which makes me thankful I am done with education!!) and what she’s getting up to in Seattle or her musings on things in general.

I sent her a parcel which you can read about on her blog here and I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to write about the one she sent me!  Shame on me!!

My heart just sank when I saw that sticker on my parcel because I’ve had things confiscated before.  Luckily nothing was taken.

And this is what I got:

A lovely book that I am still to delve into, a Christmas card and some yummy things.  They were pomegranate seeds covered in dark chocolate- SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I think that Abigail has gotten herself into trouble now because I *need* these things in my life like every day stat.  I am only half-joking when I say that she needs to send me a care package every month!  Ooh and chai tea.  I only very recently got into drinking tea other than ordinary black tea so this was a great present for me so that I could expand my horizons, tea-wise anyway.

I had so much fun sending and receiving parcels with Abigail.  We’ll definitely have to do it again soon… mainly because I need my fix of chocolate covered pomegranate seeds. 

Package Pals Party

A little while back, Gentri sent the call out to bloggers who wanted to send a parcel to another blogger and receive one in return. I’m always up for receiving a present in the mail so I signed up. I was paired up with Jenna. Oh sweet Jenna! We instantly became great friends, we have so much in common and she introduced me to my latest obsession, Vampire Diaries. We’re both crazy animal ladies and also have far too many celebrity crushes and share a penchant for YA fantasy. Not only are we now blogging friends but we’re email pals too… when I return her emails anyway :)

I went a little overboard with stuff for Jenna and she went the same way too. I think we were paired together perfectly!! There was a LOT of candy involved.

This is what I sent to her:

CHOCOLATE!! Bird photo holders, “The Princess Bride” (aka the best book in the world), jewellery (I liked those bracelets so much I brought them for myself too!), a magnet about cats being awesome and a snood or cowl, as I have been informed they call them in the States. Although my knee is in the picture, I did not send this in the parcel.

It took absolutely AGES for Jenna’s parcel to reach me but it was definitely worth the wait. I think Nilly was just as excited as me to get the parcel.

Look how much chocolate I got!!!

I got a TALKING John Krasinski birthday card, a super cute cat to-do list, a Florida mug and magnet, two books that are MUST reads, bookmark, jewellery. And chocolate. And a photo of Miss Trixie sending greetings all the way from Florida.

Then Nilly got bored. But look at our babies being friends!!!

I know Gentri’s keen to do another one some time next year so definitely get involved! It’s been such fun doing this. Yes I learned about another country, but I got chocolate and made a friend out of the deal too. Sounds pretty good to me.
